Unfulfilled Love Promises (Part 3)

Unfulfilled Love Promises  (Part 3)
Welcome honey, gave him a very good kiss, took his bag from him, moved him to the couch, removed his cap, and told him to relax. I looked deep into his eyes to see if there is any sign of guilt in him, but his eyes were so clear, his mind was hard as a rock. That means this has been happening for long and I didn’t even notice a thing. I saw the devil he really was. I asked if I should get him water and he said yes. On getting to the kitchen, tears rolled down my cheek, I tried to hold it, got the water and went back to the living room to give to him. We began to gist, and perfectly he cooked up untrue stories of how his trip went, I gave him some encouragement as usual. On the night of the same day, we went to bed and he began to touch me, I knew it was time for our normal Mummy and Daddy stuff, I almost looked at him repulsively, that was how I felt within me, but I adjusted because I had to play along, as he was going back and forth inside me, I was crying inside.
It’s another weekend again, another creative and coordinated excuse to leave to go see our wife. I already hired some guys to surreptitiously tail him to wherever he will be going to, and never to loose track of him even if he has to leave the country. They followed him from Lagos to Ibadan somewhere around Bodija, based on the report from those guys, he entered a building, the guys paid for information about those occupying the building and their movement, they even had to lodge in a hotel in that area to monitor my husband throughout his stay at Ibadan, took pictures and videos of both of them moving in and out of the building, they made sure they followed him back to Lagos and brought me all the evidence. It was what I needed exactly from them.
Marcus got home and everything continued normally. A day came, I told Marcus I needed to go and see my parents, and I may not be coming back on the same day, and he approved, though he told me he’ll miss me so much, and I said I’m missing him already and I’ll try not to stay too long. I left the house, called my guys and we headed straight for Ibadan, I planned not coming back until I see her, truly we got to the house, parked right outside the building and remained in the car, but fortunately, shortly after we got to the house, she stepped out of the building, entered a car and the car drove off. I confirmed it truly who I saw on that wedding day and also who is in those pictures the guys took. Now I know who I’m after. On our way back to Lagos, I began to think again, what could have made Marcus decide to marry another wife? After all, she’s not as beautiful as me, and could it really have been because of the fact that I haven’t gotten pregnant since we got married? So I decided to look deeper into that. I called Sharon’s attention to what I have done so far, she supported me, and I begged her to help me find out more about the woman since she’s close to Catherine, and that woman my husband married is kind of related to Catherine, though a distant relative, but she must to do the job without Catherine noticing anything. Sharon assured me on the instance that it’s already a done job. Barely a week after, Sharon called me on phone and told me she confirmed that the Lady was close to 3 months pregnant as at the time Marcus married her and they dated for close to a year before the wedding. I almost lost it, I got really disoriented, it was a deep pain for me, a wound that I know will never heal. I remember Marcus’s word on the night of our wedding anniversary again when he said God is really on his side because he gave him the most amazing and wonderful human being ever, and he’s anticipating all the future wonderful moments together with me.  So, Marcus lied to me on one of my special night, lied to me of anticipating future moments together with me. Immediately, I knew my days are numbered in his house, but if I have to leave, I won’t leave without a fight. I have almost every information I needed on the Lady, though I may have to visit her once or twice in future, so Marcus became my next and major target.
On a particular night, I was with Marcus in the living room, placed my head on his leg, and a call came in on my phone, It was Mum, he saw who called, when I was talking on phone, he saw that my countenance changed, I stood up, moved away from him, I hung up the call after five minutes or more, he asked me if there was a problem, I told him Mum called to tell me that her Cousin Sister’s son, Mike just completed his National Youth Service, and he plans on move to Lagos to look for a job, and needs where to stay, she asked if he can come and stay here with us till he gets a job. Marcus remained quiet for few seconds and somehow he approved it without much thought. I thanked him and smiled, he never knew that smile was the one that will bring him down. Who was the MUM that called me? What type of call exactly did I receive? Who is Mike? And when God would have it, Marcus approved what I wanted. He who laughs last, laughs best.
