THE MANDATORY USE OF FACE MASK, IS THE GOVERNMENT SINCERE OR NOT?

The use of face mask has been made mandatory in the country. The question is, is there any sincerity on the part of the government?

The Lagos State government few days ago shared a news pertaining to the distribution of face masks to the public to ensure compliance to the use of face masks. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the state government has been very proactive in dealing with the spread of the virus, we all know how corruption is in the country, and no one I know of (both the poor and the middle class) were able to get a share of the face mask.

Recently, the use of fabric face masks has been trending, because sincerely, that is what the majority will be able to afford.

But will this masks be effective in reducing the spread of the virus or will cause more harm. Has there been adequate sensitization of the use of this fabric face masks.

Covid-19 is known to stick to fabric, that’s why they wear scrubs and dispose them immediately after attending to a patient with the virus.

The proportion of the ignorant ones in the county are much more than the informed people, if the ignorant is affected, with this kind of virus that spreads like wildfire, the informed will certainly not be spared because we live in the same environment.

On this note, the Nigerian government should create enough awareness as regards the use of the local made or the fabric face mask if they are really sincere and committed to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
